Let Me Love Me…

When Neyo sang the song titled Let me Love You, he sure was onto something.

Let me love you and I will love you, until you learn to love yourself…

It is a beautiful song, especially just those words and don’t we at times wish someone would come and tell them to us? You know, because we don’t always love ourselves as well as we should. At times we forget just how awesome we are and we allow ourselves to be taken for rides we never would have gotten on.

I have had my moments. Moments where I have doubted myself and looked to people around me to approve of me and give me some sense of worth. I have given my power away at certain times because I did not feel so good about myself and these have always been some of my worst times. Human beings are inherently selfish and so not many will take time to really look into you and realize you are at a bad place and more often than not they will just use you for their own benefit, not knowing they are destroying you even further.

As much as I would love to put the blame on these people, I realize that I am not their responsibility and making me feel good about myself is not part of their life description. So what then?

So I need to learn to always be in tune with myself. I need to learn to always love me, even when I am at my worst. Other than God, I need to be the second person who loves me the most. I need to always be loyal to me.

I know, easier said than done but I need to love myself enough to want to do the work. You know how when we love someone we talk about going to the moon for them and what not, well, I need to love me that much. It may take a bit of work but the important thing is in trying; taking the steps. That’s what matters.

I don’t know about you. I don’t know how you feel about yourself. If you love yourself through and through or if you have times when you wish someone would dedicate Neyo’s let me love you to you and mean it.

If you have those times, well then this is for you. Learn how to love yourself always and at all times so you never have to give your power away to another human being. More often than not, they don’t know what to do with it so they will misuse it.
